Testimonials
Still humming from this fun experience!
"Mocha Tones duo, Barbara Linett and La Don Jones, were a huge hit! They are a very unique duo who sang with such gorgeous vocals. They moved not just one’s ears and feet but everyone's heart and soul. With over 200 present, their classy presentation in appearance and in music greatly pleased everyone at our recent Fr. Joe’s Villages Ladies Guild Fundraiser on 2/20/23 held at the Mission Valley Hilton. Still humming from this fun experience!" Sally Ramirez, FJV Ladies Guild Fundraiser Co-Chair 2/22/23
We would hire them again in a heartbeat!
"Having Barbara and La Don perform at our housewarming party created a fun and energized atmosphere. They perform a wide range of music genres, all of which everyone knows and loves. We would hire them again in a heartbeat!" Karen Zatt 2/22/23
Regulars at Wine A Bit Coronado
"La Don Jones and Barbara Linett! What an amazing duo! Together, they have rocked the house at Wine A Bit and entertained our customers for several years. Whether for a large crowd, private party, wedding or wine bar setting Barbara and La Don fit right in! A beautiful couple that engages with the customers and loves what they do. Our customers ask for them over and over! Highly recommended"

Make the Call!
"Want a dynamic, superbly talented pair of musicians to entertain guests at your next party or function? You cannot go wrong with our good friends, La Don Jones and Barbara Linett, AKA Mocha Tones. We first met them at a small, intimate Wine Bar, and have been back often to hear them. So, we recently had them entertain 200+ family and friends at a retirement party, and they brought down the house! Individually, they are excellent vocalists, and together, their harmonies are enchanting! We have no idea how broad their reach is of artists, musical genres, or specific song titles. Their playlist seems endless. We've not heard them turn down many requests! At our party, guests from ages 7 to 90 listened, sang along, and danced to numbers made famous by Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, Chris Stapleton, Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks, Grace Slick, Tracy Chapman, Seals and Crofts, The Eagles, Chicago, The Beatles, don McLean, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Bruno Mars...you get the idea. Want a very special, highly emotive experience? Ask them to sing "The Prayer," a beautiful duet made famous by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. You'll think you've been to church. La Don and Barbara will add so much to your entertainment experience, you'll want to hear them perform again and again. Make the call." Margaret & Rich Steinacher 6/22/2022
Vista, CA
"We are new to the San Diego area and wanted to throw a party in our backyard to get to know people. La Don and Barbara were recommended by the manager of the Vista Valley Country Club where they have performed in the past and one member who booked them for a private party. We were not disappointed and our guests loved them as well. Their music appealed to all of us across several age groups and once the dancing started - well - we didn't want it to stop. They are two very amazing and talented people and work with you in advance to create a music list for your vision. We are looking forward to creating another themed party to have them back. Book them - you will not be disappointed and your party will rock and roll or step back to another beat before R&R." Donna & Michael Kelly 9/27/2021
Barbara and La Don ROCK!
"Barbara and La Don ROCK! They are the most accommodating and loving couple. We booked them for a small outdoor gathering and made our party! They offer a wide variety of music of which you can choose what you want to hear. We chose from Sinatra to Tom Petty. Fantastic...We can't wait to have another party and have them play. If considering booking them, don't hesitate" Wendy and Richard Clarke 10/01/2020
We promise you will not be disappointed
"Barbara and La Don (Mocha Tones) won our ears and hearts the minute we heard them. We immediately booked them and then created a holiday party around them. One of the best decisions we made! Their music crosses several genres, and their talented voices and styles were better than perfect! Book them now! We promise you will not be disappointed." Jennifer and Dwight Settle 12/03/2019
About Mocha Tones
The Mocha Tones Story
Mocha Tones’ mission is to encourage everyone to experience the joy of music! California native, Barbara Linett and Mississippian, La Don Jones were brought together by their mutual love of music of all genres. Starting with a chance meeting at Coronado’s Wine-a-Bit, Barbara and La Don immediately discovered that they share a passion for singing Jazz Standards, R & B, Pop and Country! They believe that what comes from the heart, goes to the heart. They hope to spread the joy of music and connection wherever they go!
